A Day of Jubilee

This is a day of Jubilee, the fiftieth year of release and freedom, and a day to proclaim Liberty in the land (Lev. 25:10)!  And, coincidentally, it’s just a little over 50 years since Roe was ruled constitutional.  Some of us wonder if we aren’t in a dream and anticipate being awakened back to “reality” at any moment.  But, like newly freed slaves, we realize the shackles really are off our hands and feet for good, and we intend that they will never go back on.

This day is a not just a great victory for Life but for the spiritual state of the nation as a whole.  We begin the cessation of the shedding of innocent blood (since 1973, 64+ million total, 25 million being Black).  The leadership of the nation, through its Justices’ actions, have caused it to make and take a turn toward righteousness.  This turn comes with a great promise from the Word of God.  Proverbs 1:23 states that, “If you will turn (repent) and give heed to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you.  I will make my words known to you.”  May we welcome and receive His Spirit of Life and grow in the knowledge of Him through His Word.

We are grateful to The Lord for His use of many people and circumstances to bring about this day:  the consistency, prudence, and outspokenness of Justice Antonin Scalia, the stalwartness of Sen. Chuck Grassley regarding the Garland appointment; President Trump’s unflinching pro-life stance and nomination of three pro-life Justices (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett).  This was all part of the scheme of God whose “…counsel stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psa. 33:11). With this turn, may America only be better and gratefully positioned for God to bless her more.
